Access permits (Windshield Stickers)

Valid for a year, July 1st through June 30th of each year.

The following year’s permits go on sale on May 1st of each year and are valid from the day of purchase until July 1st of the next calendar year.

New rates effective 7/1/25

Annual Permit – $60 (July 1- June 30)

1/2 year Permit – $35 – cannot be purchased until January 1- (expires June 30 of the same calendar year)

Single Day Pass (for one business day) – $15

Services with an Access Permit

Household Trash

  • 33-gallon bag or smaller – $5 per bag (any bag of your choice, no special bags needed)
  • Contractor bag – $10 per bag
  • 32-gallon barrel – $15 each
  • All other trash – $30 for up to 275 lbs. (weighed, minimum charge)
  • Over 275 lbs. (by weight on the scale) – $215 per ton

Construction Debris

  • Minimum disposal fee – $30 for up to 275 lbs.
  • Over 275 lbs. (by weight on the scale) – $215 per ton

Household Items

  • Vacuum – $5
  • All Mattresses & box springs- $50 ea.
  • Chair/Recliner/Loveseat – $15
  • Tables/Entertainment Centers/Stands – $15-$30
  • Sofa – $25
  • Sleeper Sofa – $30
  • Sectional (all sections) – $25-50
  • Toilet- $30

Tires

  • Bicycle – $3
  • Car/Truck/Motorcycle tire (up to 22″ tire)- $5
  • Car/Truck/Motorcycle on the rim – $8
  • Truck tires (over 22″)- $30 (Mack, Freightliner, International)
  • Larger Tires or specialty tires (call for pricing)-backhoe, loader, telehandler
  • Bulk Loads – $300 per ton (Loader tires are priced each and not by weight)
  • All tires under 15″ are NOT accepted unless off the rim
  • BDS is no longer accepting wheel tracks, only tires

No Charge with an Access Permit

  • Food Scraps – Food scraps, soiled paper, and BPI-certified compostable products
  • Recycling – Mixed paper, cardboard, aluminum, glass, plastic, bottles & cans

No Access Permit Required

Appliances

  • Without Freon (microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer, stove, etc.) – $15
  • With Freon (A/C, dehumidifiers, freezers, fridges, water coolers) – $25
  • With Freon (Commercial equipment)- $50

Scrap Metal

  • Gas Grill – $5-10
  • Scrap Metal (push mowers, small metal load) – $5/load
  • Riding lawnmowers (20 hp & under), medium-sized load- $10/load
  • Pick up bed load, medium- $10/load
  • Large scrap loads (truck with trailer, etc.)= $20/load

Paint

  • Oil-based, Stains, Latex, Polyurethane, varnishes (10 gal limit per day, no spray paint or thinner) – Free

Electronics

  • Computers, TVs, Printers, Peripherals – Free for residents and small businesses
  • Other electronics (DVD, VCR, cable box, stereos) – $5 minimum
  • $35 for large items- floor model copiers, etc.
  • Bulk electronics- weighed at $0.29/lb.

Batteries

  • Alkaline (regular AA, AAA, C, D, button) – Free
  • Rechargeable (Lithium, NiCad) – Free
  • Large (electric fence, lawnmower, motorcycle) – $4
  • Car/Truck (lead-acid) – $6

Fluorescent Lightbulbs

  • CFLs (spiral lightbulbs) – Free
  • Fluorescent straight Tubes $.35/foot
  • Sodium Vapor Bulbs $2/each

Propane and Other Tanks

  • Camp Tank (1 lb) – $2.50
  • Grill Tank (20lb) – $10
  • Helium Tank – $5
  • Insulation Tank (spray foam) – $25
  • Fire Extinguisher – $5

Textile/Clothing/Shoes

With Apparel Impact

  • Textiles, clothing, shoes – Free (only accessible while the Transfer Station is open)

Book Repurposing

With Roundabout Books

  • Hardcover, paperbacks, cookbooks – Free
  • Textbooks, how-to-books, encyclopedias- Free

Household Hazardous Waste- (May to October)

  • Open May-October on Tuesdays from 8:30 am-10:30 am, $15 for up to 5 gallons. Larger loads will be priced accordingly at disposal unless quoted beforehand, and appointments are recommended for large loads or unknowns.
  • Gallon totals do not include paint or motor oil. Paint is free to recycle, and motor oil is listed below.
  • Dirty used motor oil- $10 per gallon (dirty means contaminated with antifreeze, gasoline, dirt, leaves, water, unknowns, etc.)- after October, motor oil will be collected on Tuesdays only at the scale house.
  • Bad gasoline, spray paint, thinners, pesticides, pool chemicals, ammonia, CLR, bleach, etc.
  • Appointments are recommended for residents, but must be made for businesses and schools.  (Please click here to make an appointment.) (Scheduler opens late April)
  • If you can’t make your appointment time, please plan to arrive by 10:30 AM

Motor Oil- (Clean or dirty)- ONLY collected on Tuesdays

  • Clean, used, or unused motor oil (free from contaminants) will be charged $1 for up to one gallon, and $1 per gallon thereafter.
  • Dirty used motor oil- $10 per gallon (dirty means contaminated with antifreeze, gasoline, dirt, leaves, water, unknowns, heating oil sludge, etc.)

WSWMD Swap Shop (April to November)

  • Open on Saturdays from April to November, 8:30 am-12 pm
  • Opens on the 2nd Saturday in April and closes on the Saturday before Thanksgiving in November
  • Open every Saturday for shopping & donations

Brush– (stumps, logs, branches) – Clean wood

  • Minimum charge $10
  • Done by weight on the scale, $100/ton

Leaf & Yard Waste

  • If bagged, please only use paper leaf/grass bags
  • Plastic bags or barrels must be dumped out into the leaf pile
  • Leaves are accepted year-round at no charge
  • Invasive weeds are trash and are not acceptable yard waste. They must be bagged and disposed of as trash, and will have a fee.
