Does my institution qualify to use the Hazardous Waste Depot?

The WSWMD HHW Depot is open to businesses, schools, and or institutions that have small amounts of hazardous waste and are located in any of our 18 District towns.

(Brattleboro, Brookline, Dover, Dummerston, Guilford, Halifax, Jamaica, Marlboro, Newfane, Putney, Readsboro, Somerset, Stratton, Townshend, Vernon, Wardsboro, Westminster, and Wilmington)

Some examples of businesses & institutions include artists, auto repair shops, cleaning companies, contractors, dry cleaners, exterminators, farms, painters, print shops, property managers, and schools.

Common hazardous wastes accepted are acids, acrylic paints, adhesives, ammonia, antifreeze, aerosol paints & pesticides, automotive paints, bleach, brake fluid, chemistry lab chemicals, industrial-strength cleaners & solvents, contaminated motor oil (dirt, debris, water, other automotive fluids, leaves), drain cleaners, chemical fertilizers, fuel additives, gasoline, diesel, herbicides, mothballs, paint thinners & strippers, photographic chemicals, pool & spa chemicals, separator water & other dry cleaning chemicals.

Disposal fees vary depending on the type and quantity of waste and additional special handling fees may apply.

Businesses and schools MUST fill out this form and register in advance. Do not show up without a confirmed appointment. This form is NOT for residents requesting appointments.
