Now Hiring a Part-Time, Temporary Position

This is a temporary hourly position with no benefits. Hourly rate based on experience. Submit application by Oct. 22. Hours will be approximately 24 hours per week Nov ‘21 through Sept ’22.

WSWMD is looking for a part-time, temporary employee to implement a Food Scrap Recovery and Diversion outreach and assistance project for our member towns. The program is funded by WSWMD and a grant from USDA Rural Development. Work will be performed under the direction of the Programs & Operations Manager and possibly with the help of an ECO Americorps member. Work includes:

  • a composting and compost use assessment;
  • a multimedia food scrap awareness campaign;
  • virtual and hands-on technical assistance to restaurants, businesses, towns, residents, haulers, and composters in the region; and
  • a regional webinar.

We are looking for someone with excellent organizational and communication skills, ability to work independently, and engage community members with professionalism and positive attitude. Best candidates will have some working knowledge of composting, solid waste management, Vermont’s Act 148, and experience in education or graphic design.
