Motor Oil (Used)

| A-Z Disposal Guide

Please go to the Scale house upon arrival to the facility, do not leave your oil without checking in first.

Used motor oil is banned from Vermont landfills.  We will accept up to 10 gallons per visit during normal business hours.

The oil must be strictly used or unused oil and not contaminated with gasoline, antifreeze, dirt, water, etc.

We will also take heating oil and hydraulic oil.  We cannot take oil and gasoline mixtures from a two-stroke engine, this will have to be brought to the HHW Depot.

Make sure your oil is being dropped off in a container(s) with a lid that closes.  No open buckets or drain pans full of oil will be accepted.

Cost: Effective 7/1/23, all 5-gallon buckets of oil will not be accepted for free at the scale house, there will be a $5 charge. There is no cost for used motor oil in quarts or gallon containers. Oil filters are now free to drop off.

(If it’s known to be contaminated, then it would have to be brought in to our Hazardous Waste Depot and will have a disposal fee attached)
