Ashes (wood ash)

Ashes are not recyclable; however, small quantities of ashes from raw lumber and clean wood can be incorporated into your home compost pile. Just make sure they’re no longer hot!

WSWMD will not encourage ashes being deposited into our compost. We ask that you wait until they are stone cold before disposing of them in the trash.
