Vapes

| A-Z Disposal Guide
No access sticker or day pass is required for vapes
In Vermont, you should not throw a vape in the regular trash if it contains a lithium-ion battery—which includes virtually all rechargeable and most disposable vapes.

Here’s how to dispose of them:

  • Rechargeable vapes: Treat them as electronic waste because they contain a lithium battery.
  • Disposable vapes: Even though they’re “disposable,” they still contain a lithium battery.
  • Do not attempt to remove the battery.

Lithium batteries can ignite if they’re crushed in garbage trucks or at solid waste facilities, creating a serious fire hazard.

There is a $5 charge per unit.

Please bring all items to the scale for proper recycling.
