Draft Minutes of December 1, 2020
Members Present: Michelle Cherrier, Dummerston; Nancy Meinhard, Wardsboro; Dan Toomey, Putney;
WSWMD Staff Present: Robert Spencer, Executive Director
Dan called the meeting to order at 4:20 P.M. Bob will be taking minutes since Vicki could not attend. Bob did a roll call of members, and a quorum was present.
Changes and/or Additions to the Agenda: None
Salary/Wage Positions, and Potential Step Increases
This is being considered per the meeting on November 5, 2020 with Carol Granfield, Municipal Resources, Inc. who did the salary and wage analysis. Bob also got a copy of the Addison County SWMD’s step system for each position and sent to the committee as an example. Dan prepared and sent to the committee a draft 5 step system with a 35% range in pay from starting pay to maximum pay per position, the range suggested by Carol.
After much discussion of pros and cons, the consensus of the committee was to not implement a step system at this time. It may be considered in the future but it does not seem to be necessary at this time since the current system has been working well.
Dan will update the “Compensation” section of the P&P Manual, and have a draft for the BOS to be sent out Dec. 5 prior to the BOS meeting on Dec 10.
