Food and food scraps can be composted, FREE of charge, in the Windham Solid Waste Management District’s organics composting program (please click here for Project C.O.W. for more information) or your curbside compost container.
VT Law mandates that food scraps cannot be thrown into the trash. If you are not composting your food scraps at home, composting at a community garden or local farm, or using the WSWMD transfer station program, please click here for the list of VT food scrap haulers.
