Fluorescent Bulbs*

Fluorescent bulbs come in many shapes and sizes, but all contain trace amounts of mercury which is very dangerous to humans.  It is illegal to trash fluorescent bulbs (and other mercury-containing devices) into the trash.  Please bring your bulbs to us for proper recycling.

It is free in VT to recycle these, up to 10 per day.  Larger quantities and businesses are subjected to $.13/foot charge for disposal.  Please check in at the scale house upon arrival.  ((If you bring the entire fluorescent light assembly, there is an extra charge for the ballast and the metal.))

If you are bringing larger quantities (especially tubes), please make sure they are taped together or in a box to ensure they stay intact and don’t break!

Please store these away from small children and pets while transporting in your vehicle.

LED, halogen and incandescent bulbs are allowed to be disposed of in your household trash.

*NO ACCESS STICKER OR DAY PASS REQUIRED
