Construction & Demolition Debris

There is more than 50,000 tons of waste generated from construction and demolition (C&D) projects annually in Vermont.  A great deal of C&D can be reused or recycled which can make a large impact in resource conservation and landfill diversion.

Businesses and Organizations Accepting Used Materials

Other than certified solid waste facilities, there is a variety of building salvage, reuse, and antique stores that look for quality used building materials, fixtures, and appliances.

In addition, there are many facilities around the state that will accept single materials, such as concrete, brick, or a combination of several types. To locate a certified solid waste facility, visit the Vermont Materials Management Map.

Please Note: As of July 1, 2016, clean wood is banned from landfill.

For more information on C&D waste recycling please visit Agency of Natural Resources, Department of Environmental Conservation Construction and Demolition Recycling.

Construction and demolition debris is accepted at the Windham Solid Waste Management District during normal business hours.

Cost: Calculated based on weight. See our Fees and Materials Accepted under “Construction and Demolition Waste”
