Clothing, Shoes & Textiles

There are several local consignment stores in the District where you can bring clothing and other items for reuse. Please check your local community for "reuse", "thrift", or "consignment" shops.

The Windham Solid Waste Management District, located at 327 Old Ferry Road, Brattleboro, accepts clothing, shoes, and textiles in the Salvation Army bin which is  accesible during normal business hours.

In addition, there are several Planet Aid donation bins located throughout the District that are accessible 24 hours a day/7 days a week.  Please visit Planet Aid to find a donation bin near you.

Swap Shop Open Every Saturday!

The Swap Shop is open every Saturday from 8:30AM to 12:00 PM, but the WSWMD Scalehouse/Transfer Station is open Saturday from 8AM until the gate closes at 1:00PM.

Swap Front2019

The Swap Program volunteers determine if items presented will be accepted. The volunteers must check everyone's materials upon arrival because there is limited space and because the Swap Program is not a free dumping area. If items are rejected and they are to be disposed of, people should go to the scalehouse - a pass or sticker is required, and fees will apply if you are disposing of any trash.

If you have any large items or any questions about items that you would like to bring to the Swap Shop, please email them at: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
