FREE Compost Workshops

Join us this summer at one of our Free Compost Workshops.  Learn about starting a backyard bin, compost recipes, and troubleshooting tips.  We'll also discuss Vermont's Universal Recycling Law (Act 148), the phased-in food scrap ban, and food scrap collection at transfer stations.  Workshops are open to all residents.

July 18, 2017.  Townshend Town Hall.  6:00 p.m.

July 20, 2017.  Dover Elementary School.  6:00 p.m.

 

Brattleboro Curbside Compost Program

LogoThe Town of Brattleboro offers FREE curbside pickup of food scraps and non-recyclable paper and cardboard along with your trash and recycling.

Over 2,000 households are participating in the voluntary program and diverting approximately 24,000 pounds of compostable materials per week from landfills. GREAT JOB BRATTLEBORO!

Curbside compost carts are available at the Brattleboro Municipal Center in the Finance Department, 802-251-8103.

Kitchen pails and backyard compost bins are available at the Windham Solid Waste Management District administration offices, 327 Old Ferry Road, during regular office hours Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.  If you are unable to visit our office during normal business hours, please call us to arrange pickup, (802) 257-0272.
